About Chunky and Friends

Chunky And Friends provides healthy eating tips & active play resources through illustrated books that kids of all ages can relate to.  The story spotlights Charles “Chucky” Spring, who is adoringly nicknamed “Chunky” by friends and family and his cast of amazing friends.

Here is the synopsis: Chunky is a 10-year-old boy who finds out that he is in danger of becoming obese. His vivid imagination causes him to confuse what was discussed during his visit to the doctor and believes he will soon transform into an “O-BEAST.” Can Chunky make sense of it all and stop the O-Beast from taking over?

When Chunky begins to show signs and risk factors for obesity, he knows he has to defeat the terrible “O-Beast.”  The O-Beast is a character that was created for kids as a visual representation of poor health habits.  The O-Beast is a bad guy that Chunky and his friends can defeat every time they eat their healthy meals and engage in active play.  As we expand the Chunky and Friends book series, we will bring awareness to a myriad of issues that impact the health of children through the colorful characters whose aim is to promote the growth of healthy, strong children.

Kids love and relate to Chunky because his story is a reminder that we all come in different shapes and sizes. No matter what their appearance may be on the outside,  we want to ensure that our kids are healthy inside. Just like any real-life hero, Chunky  knows that words will not hurt him and maintains his persistence through self-empowerment and the love of his friends. That is why we set our goal to make sure that your kids grow up healthy by eating more fresh fruits & vegetables and engage in active play regularly. We do not focus on weight we focus on health.  On www.ChunkyAndFriends.com, parents will find tools and valuable resources they can use to help their kids stay active, eat healthy and maintain confidence in defeating “The O-Beast.”
